John D. Cleland is Of Counsel to the Firm. He is an experienced trial lawyer who focuses his practice on personal injury and product liability cases involving industrial equipment, construction machinery, construction and roadway work-zone safety, industrial accidents, motor vehicle accidents and railroad liability. He provides on-site crisis management for emergency situations including accident investigation, evidence preservation, and negotiating and coordinating with local, state and federal agencies. He advises clients on liability issues relating to workplace safety and assists clients with OSHA workplace investigations. His commercial litigation experience includes defense and prosecution of cases involving breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, lease disputes, trademark infringement, theft of trade secrets and deceptive trade practices.
Mr. Cleland obtained his J.D. and Certificate in Admiralty and Maritime Law from Tulane Law School, magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, in 1998. He is admitted to the State Bars of Texas and North Carolina. He is the Vice-Chair, and immediate past Secretary and Treasurer, of the Litigation Section of the Houston Bar Association. Past pro bono work includes assisting clients through the Houston Volunteer Lawyer Program, Legal Lines and Lawyers in Public Schools. John was recognized as one of Houston’s Top Personal Injury Lawyers by H Texas Magazine in 2006.
