Mr. Gibson has concentrated his practice for the last 28 years in the defense of railroads in personal injury cases, taking to verdict more than 100 Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) and grade crossing cases in both state and federal courts. He entered the railroad practice by spending nine years in the in-house law department of Southern Pacific Railroad, now part of the Union Pacific Railroad.
Mr. Gibson graduated from West Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1968, and from the University of Houston Law School in 1973. He is admitted to practice in all Texas courts, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Eastern, Western, and Southern Districts of Texas in the federal system.
He is a frequent speaker at national and regional meetings of railroad defense attorneys, and is a former Southwestern Regional Vice-President of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel (NARTC). He was active in the Texas Association of Railroad Trial Counsel (TARTC), before its merger into the NARTC.
